Kalimor Dollar & Kalimor Caper

Owned & loved by Claire, Jason & Family

Claire & Jason had this to say about their lovely girls:

"We met Tina in 1996 after contacting her about getting our first Weimaraner. I’m not sure what she made of this young couple with no doggy experience but thankfully she agreed to let us have a puppy.

“Dollar”, a full sister to Sassy and Cooper, chose us rather than the other way round. She totally charmed us with her lively personality. The idea of showing a dog had never entered my head, but after spending time with Tina and her brood I soon got the bug. For a puppy who had no intention of doing what she was told, handled by a girl who had no idea what she was doing, Dollar did pretty well! Over time we improved together and Dollar either won, or was placed in many of her classes, both at open and champ level, including BPIS at the Ashford, Faversham & District C.S. open show and 1st Post Graduate bitch at Crufts in 1998. She later went on to gain her stud book number.

Eighteen months later she was joined by “Caper” from a repeat of Dollar’s litter. Caper was a different dog altogether. Laid back and chilled, her personality complimented Dollar’s perfectly. Caper was lightly shown but again had some success until a skin complaint cut short her show career. They both went on to be lovely pets and were patient old ladies when our two sons came along.

We unfortunately lost Caper in February 2009 aged 11 after a short illness. She has been sorely missed.

The saying goes that the candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long, but Dollar was the exception. She remained a livewire until she too died in December 2009 just four months short of her 14th birthday.

Both Jason and I feel privileged to have owned our two beautiful girls and are grateful to Tina for introducing us to the breed and giving us such wonderful dogs"
